Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva has said that the Covid-19 cluster associated with the Minuwangoda Brandix apparel factory seems to have spread to the first and second levels of contact.
Although it has not yet been possible to identify the first infected person in the cluster, the Army Commander said that the focus has been directed to who could be the next victim of the virus.
Noting that the virus could be transmitted to around 522 people through a single infected individual, the Army Commander further stated that it cannot yet be stated that the virus had been socially transmitted.
He also pointed out that social transmission depended on the conduct of the public.
The Army Commander was speaking thus during a TV program.
