Former president Maitripala Sirisena and ex-PM Ranil Wickremesinghe have met during the dinner hosted for the visiting Pakistan Prime Minister.
Their meeting became very significant as it was a very rare occassion and also it took place on the same day the report of the Commission that probed the Easter bombings was released.
The duo had sat on the adjoining chairs at the same table at the state banquet held at the Temple Trees.
The duo have attended the state dinner on an invitation extended by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa and Minister Chamal Rajapaksa have also sat at the same table.
Divaina newspaper reported that Sirisena and Wickremesinghe were seen exchanging views on the commission report.
